Prof. Dr. Jürgen Janek

J. Janek studied chemistry (U Hannover 1989) and obtained his Dr. rer. nat. in physical Chemistry (with H. Schmalzried, U Hannover 1992). After his Habilitation (1997) he became 1999 professor for Physical chemistry at U Gießen. His major research interests are solid state ionics and materials for energy technologies, defect chemistry, plasma chemistry, reactivity of solids and ionic nanomaterials. He runs a collaborative research program of the DFG on substitutional effects in ionic materials.
